I began my career as a product designer. Eventually, I changed jobs and entered the world of watchmaking, where my life as a watch designer began. It is a world of precision where even a hair’s breadth of error is not tolerated. I was captivated by the depth of the pursuit of both precision and beauty, and have been fascinated by this path ever since.
While working on watch designs for numerous companies, each and every encounter taught me the fundamentals of craftsmanship. I witness the manufacturing process together with the customer, interpret the blueprints, and engage in repeated dialogue with the craftsmen to create the perfect watch. This accumulation of experience is what drives me.
Japan’s watch industry boasts world-class technology and aesthetic sense, but it is also at a major turning point. That is why I want to be a bridge that connects the experience I have cultivated to the future. I want to preserve tradition while not being afraid of innovation, and pass on Japanese watchmaking technology to the next generation and the world.
